Obituary for Bertha Fay Nickerson Ebeling

Ebeling, Bertha Fay, 93, of New Martinsville, died May 22, 2013, at Emarituss in Marietta, Ohio.

Bertha was born March 17, 1920, in Wheeling, W.Va., daughter of the late Harland D. and H. Elizabeth Reeves Nickerson.

She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker. She was a charter member of the Women of the Moose and member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in New Martinsville. She loved the ladies of the church and she showed this love by making each of them an apron.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Walter H. Ebeling; son, William "Bill" Ebeling; five brothers, Harland Nickerson, Domer Nickerson, Mont Nickerson, Billy Nickerson Jr., and Melvin Nickerson; and four sisters, Elizabeth Fordyce, Gladys Procellochs, Sara Smith, and Norma Clatterbuck.

Surviving are her daughter, Verna Fay (Larry) Mall; daughter-in-law, Twila Ebeling; grandchildren, Lori (Mike) Hall, "Mindy" Mall, Kim Fruner, Brent (Dana) Ebeling, Andrea Ebeling and Eric (Brenda) Ebeling; great-grandchildren, Derek Fruner, Dylan Fruner, Jake Fruner, Ryan Hall, Bandon Arnica, and Jessie Conway; great-great-granddaughter, Averie Arnica; and special niece, Mabel Crook.

Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Friday, May 24, 2013 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Homes, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville. Service at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 25, 2013 at the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, 521 Maple Ave., New Martinsville, with Rev. Dr. Victor Hunter officiating.

Entombment in the mausoleum in Northview Cemetery in New Martinsville.
