Obituary for William "Butch" Estel

Estel, William "Butch", 72, from High Point, NC formerly from Cameron, WV and Paden City, WV went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday evening, Dec. 28, 2012. He died with his wife by his side in High Point, NC.

Butch was born in Ryerson Station, PA on July 20, 1940, the son of Herman and Erdice Tennant Estel. He worked at Cameron Tire Shop prior to joining PPG Industries where he retired as a cell assemblyman in the Chlorine department. After retiring, he and his wife Carol moved to Holden Beach, NC where they enjoyed ocean side walks together and time with friends. He was often found working in his yard or tinkering in his garage. He enjoyed being outdoors; hunting and fishing were two of his favorite activities. He enjoyed many things in life, but especially his time with family and friends. He was a genuine family man, jovial and often heard making a joke. He deeply loved his kids and grandkids and cherished the moments he had with them. His church friends were also considered by him to be his family. He was currently worshiping at Winston Salem Church of Christ and was also affiliated with Pine Street Church of Christ in New Martinsville, WV for many years.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents, brothers- Perry Estel and Johnny Estel, sister-Violet Estel, sons-Ross Estel and Terry Estel and daughter-Kelly Witschey.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Carol VanCamp Estel; brother, Junior Estel of Summersville, SC; and children, Jon Estel of Paden City, WV; Stacy Estel of Taylorsville, KY; Kerry Finch of Fuquay Varina, NC; Darren Kemp of Greensboro, NC and their respective spouses as well as his eleven grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.

The family is accepting visitors on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 during the hours of 2 - 4 and 6 -8pm at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Homes, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville, WV where funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2013 with Jeremy Joy officiating.

Interment in Northview Cemetery in New Martinsville, WV.
