Anderson, Albert “Al” Ray, 86, of New Martinsville, WV died Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Sistersville General Hospital.

“Al” was born June 23, 1927 in Proctor, WV son of the late Albert “Eb” and Ethel Dunham Anderson.

He was a retired truck driver for the WV Dept of Highways, served as a Director for Town and Country Days since it was founded, helped with the fish fries at St. Vincent de Paul’s Catholic Church since the 70’s, a U.S. Army veteran and a Protestant by faith.

In addition to his parents, two brothers, Tom and Frank Anderson and two sisters, Ethel Erlewine and Susie Dorset, preceded him in death.

Surviving are his son, David Michael Anderson of New Martinsville, WV; twin daughters, Jean (Harrison) Pirnik of East Greenville, PA and Janet (Gary) Goode of Moundsville, WV and four grandchildren, Jimmy Moore, Whitney Pirnik, Christopher Howearth and Antoni Howearth; two brothers, John Anderson and Robert Anderson and three sisters, Hazel Blair, Hilda Baxter and Mary Helen McDaniels.

Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Thursday, April 24, 2014 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville where service will be held 8 p.m., Thursday, April 24, 2014.

Private interment in the family cemetery founded by Isaac Smith.
