Obituary for Charles Ray Clegg

Charles Ray Clegg, 88, of New Martinsville, WV died Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Genesis New Martinsville.

Charlie was born July 26, 1927 in New Martinsville, WV, son of the late Sanford and Emma (Myers) Clegg.

He was a retired mill wright for the former Ormet Corp., a U.S. Navy Veteran serving in WWII and after WWII he served in the U.S. Army, member of American Legion Marne Post 28, enjoyed traveling, fishing and meeting with the Ormet retirees and member of Steelton Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Starkey; son, Monte Ray Clegg; two sisters, Mae Brookover and Monna Ann Raber.

Surviving are his wife of sixty-eight years, Margaret (Cecil) Clegg; two sons, Chuck (Mary) Clegg and Robin (Debbie) Clegg both of New Martinsville, WV; son-in-law, Mike Starkey of Middlebourne, WV; brother, Sanford Clegg of Paden City, WV; four grandchildren, Roger (Jacque) Clegg, Jeremiah (Jennifer) Clegg, Olivia (Matt) Bartic and Jody (Ryan) Shaw; eleven great grandchildren, Drew, Abby, Carter, Liza, Cameron, Justin (Trista), Mea, Jude, Madison, Charlotte and Anneliese; three great great grandchildren, Jack, Landon and Makayla and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 Friday, March 11, 2016 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville, WV where service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, March 12, 2016 with Ed Melott officiating.

Interment to follow in Northview Cemetery in New Martinsville, WV.
