Obituary for Gladys Mae Graham (Hilton Lasure)

Gladys Mae Graham, 66, of New Martinsville, WV passed away Monday, July 11, 2016 while at Wheeling Hospital.

Gladys was born January 14, 1950 in Pine Grove, WV, daughter of the late John Henry Hilton and Sarah Jane Lasure.

She was a homemaker and loving mother devoted to taking excellent care of her family, graduate of Magnolia High School Class of 1969, member of Rebecca Lodge #82 in Middlebourne, Eastern Star in New Martinsville, Ladies Auxiliary American Legion Unit 28, she loved reading, gardening and bird watching and a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John “Ed” Graham (2013), three sisters, Barbara Fox, Margaret Hornbeck and Earlene Simmonds; brother, John H. Lasure and brother-in-law, Keith Graham.

Surviving are her two children Brian E. (Ann) Graham of Fort Worth, TX and Becky (Matt) Forrester of New Martinsville, WV; two brothers, Robert Lasure of Reader, WV and Stephen Lasure of Pine Grove, WV; four sisters, “Jo” Genova (Roger) Bassett of Tiskilwa, IL, June Lasure and Mary Lasure both of Princeton, IL and Katrilla (Rick) Fluharty of Piney, WV; two grandchildren, Daniel (Sarah) Graham and Isaac Graham; two great grandchildren, Samantha Graham and John Graham; sister-in-law, Martha Graham; special friends, Nicole and Aaron Sears and several nieces, nephews and cousins and faithful companion, Tucker Ann.

Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville, WV. Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Friday, July 15, 2016 at the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, 521 Maple Ave., New Martinsville, with Rev. Dr. Victor Hunter officiating.

Interment to follow in Northview Cemetery in New Martinsville, WV.

Memorial contributions may be made, in Gladys’ name, to New Martinsville Public Library, 160 Washington St., New Martinsville, WV 26155.
