Obituary for William F Long

William "Bill" Long, 89, of Paden City, WV passed away Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV.

Bill was born October 13, 1926 in Paden City, WV to Mont and Amanda Long. He was married to his wife Dorothy Hadley on June 30, 1950.

He was a US Army veteran. He retired from Union Carbide and was a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers for many years. He was an avid WV Mountaineers fan. Bill loved wood working and built many pieces of furniture for the family over the years. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ed, and seven sisters, Mary, Eloise, Virginia, Violet, Ruth, Bernadine, and Ethel.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dorothy, three sons, Brett (Kathy) of Charleston, WV, Matt (Christine) of Altus, OK and Mark (Karen) of Borger, TX as well as six grandchildren and two great grandchildren and brother, Brad Long of Paden City, WV.

Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Monday, August 8, 2016 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home in Paden City, WV where service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 9, 2016 with Niles Hissom officiating.

Interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Sistersville, WV.
