Obituary for Doris Jean Buerger (Rine)

Doris Jean (Rine) Buerger, 74, passed away unexpectedly, and without pain, on July 8th, 2017 at her sister’s home, with her husband by her side.

Doris Jean was born on October 18th, 1942 in Porters Falls, WV to Bertie and Everett Rine. She lived an adventurous life traveling the world, first as a military wife with her two daughters, Diana Seablom and Bobbi Jean Brauneis and then with her husband of 21 years, Walter Buerger. She traveled to Germany, Tawaiin, Croatia, Russia, China and many other locations, but above all her favorite was South Africa. She told many stories about the families she met there and the animals she encountered. In 2011, she left her home in Austria to be closer to her family, especially her two great-grandchildren, Addison and Brody Roback, whom she loved so dearly. She sang to them, did art projects and gave them lots of candy! She adored her family, not just her two daughters and four grandchildren, Amber Roback, Elyjah Seablom, Tiffany Saylor and David Brauneis, but she somehow made a connection with every niece and nephew in a very large family. We will all remember the Christmas song she wrote! She was loving, kind, crazy and fun…. God will certainly have his hands full with this angel.

Doris Jean is survived by her husband, Walter Buerger, daughters, Diana Seablom and Jeanie (Mark) Brauneis, her step-daughter Jasmine (Max) Buerger, her grandchildren, Amber (Cory) Roback, Elyjah (Kayla) Seablom, Tiffany (Thomas) Saylor, and David (Peggy Huske) Brauneis, her great-grandchildren, Addison and Brody Roback, her sister, Ruth Jackson and brother, Max (Vivian) Rine. She was preceded in death by her parents Everett and Bertie Rine, her two brothers Don and Madison Rine, and three sisters Helen Rine, Sandra Headley and Beulah Highley.

A private service, with family and close friends, will be held at Jarvis Williams Funeral Home in New Martinsville.

In lieu of flowers we ask that you make a memorial contribution to the Dillon James Jackson Memorial Scholarship Fund, Bayer Heritage Federal Credit Union, 17612 Energy Rd, Proctor, WV 26055.
