Obituary for Hazel Rayburn (Bowser)

Hazel Bowser Rayburn, 85, of New Martinsville, WV died Sunday, August 20, 2017 while at the Ritchie Personal Care in Sistersville, WV.

Hazel was born August 9, 1932 in Piney, WV, daughter of the late Clarence and Mary Jane (Lemasters) Bowser.

She was a homemaker, secretary and payroll clerk, she loved to travel, graduate of Reader High School Class of 1949 and Mountain State Business College Class of 1951, her first job was Wood County Bank and later she went to work for Libby Owens Fiber Glass Division in Vienna, WV, in January 1951 she meet her future husband and a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran and a Sunday School Teacher.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Jennifer Brown.

Surviving are her husband of sixty-four years, Eddie Rayburn; daughter, Christine (Michael) Pacheco of Litchfield, NH; son Gregory (Jacquelyn) Rayburn of Haymarket, VA; six grandchildren, Lauran Rayburn, Kelsey Rayburn, Hayley Rayburn, Zachary Brown, Nicholas Pacheco and Caitlyn Pacheco.

Friends received 11 a.m. until time of service at noon, Thursday, August 24, 2017 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in New Martinsville, WV with Pastor Sean Smith officiating.

Interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Sistersville, WV.

Memorial contributions may be made, in Hazel’s name, to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 196 N SR 2, New Martinsville, WV 26155.
