Obituary for Roger W Manion

Roger W. Manion, 80, of New Martinsville, West Virginia passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Wetzel County Hospital. He was born on December 6, 1937 in New Martinsville to the late Thurman and Christina (Fankhouser) Manion.

Roger was a 1957 graduate of Magnolia High School and was in the United States Army Reserves. He was a retired mechanic for Ormet. Roger was a member of the Wetzel Lodge #39 AF&AM in New Martinsville, WV and Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge 931.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a half-sister, Josephine Campbell and a half-brother, Harry Manion.

Roger is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sharon (Milburn) Manion whom he married on January 14, 1969; a daughter, Wendi (Jason) Cote of Orangeburg, South Carolina; a sister, Doris (Friend - deceased) Cecil of New Martinsville; several nieces & nephews; and a special dog, Tanner.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 8, 2018 from 6-8 PM at Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 South Bridge Street, New Martinsville, WV where visitation will be held again on Monday, April 9, 2018 from 12 PM until the time of the service at 1 PM with Rev. Sara Webb officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in New Martinsville where a masonic service will be conducted.
