Blatt, Bob C., 84, of Paden City, WV died Monday, October 1, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family.

Bob was born March 2, 1928 on Paden Fork Road near Paden City, WV son of the late Virgil and Iva Snodgrass Blatt.

He was a retired maintenance repairman at PPG Industries, a loving father who cared very much about his family, had a strong love for the Blessed Mother and was a devout Catholic and member of the Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church in Paden City, WV.

In addition to parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of forty-seven years, Carolyn Ruth Budd Blatt; son-in-law, Bruce Headley; brother, Wilbert Blatt and two sisters, Mary Kidder and Dreva Harris.

Surviving are his nine children, four sons, Robert (Kathi) Blatt of Hannibal, OH, Dennis (Barbara) Blatt of Williamstown, WV, Joseph (Janet) Blatt of New Martinsville, WV, Daniel (Heather) Blatt of Moundsville, WV; five daughters, Susan Rose of Bethel Park, PA, Renee Headley of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Rita Berardinelli of New Martinsville, WV, Carol (Dave) Tallman of New Martinsville, WV, Barbara (Matt) Bailey of St. Marys, WV; wife, Betty; twenty-four grandchildren, Alisha, Michael, Brian (Tori), Laura, Sarah, Natalie (Mike), Valerie (JP), Amber, BJ, Josh, Robby, Anna, David (Natalie), Daniel (Amanda), Nathan, Joseph (Holly), Sam (Michah), Katie, Alexa, Quentin, Connor, Josalyn, Matthew, Andrew; thirteen great grandchildren, Sophie, Rachel, Tyler, Avery, Beau, Isaiah, Dylan, Brooks, Kennedy, Olivia, Millie, Maxon, Gwen; three brothers, Ernie (Dorothy) Blatt, Tom (Shirley) Blatt, Frank Blatt; five sisters, Betty Billeter, Lena (Gene) Smith, Melva Stroup, Phyllis Sonneberger and Bonnie Hizer, several nieces and nephews.

Friends received 2-8 p.m., Thursday, October 4, 2012 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Homes in Paden City. Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, October 5, 2012 at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church in Paden City with Fr. James McCafftery and Fr. James LaCrosse as co-celebrants.

Rosary service at 7 p.m., Thursday evening and Christian Wake service at 7:30 both will be conducted at the funeral home.

Interment in Paden Memorial Gardens, New Martinsville, WV.
