Chapman, John M., 69, of New Martinsville, WV died Sunday, August 29, 2010 at his home.

John was born May 22, 1941 in Weston, WV the son of the late Bert and Goldie Riggs Chapman.

He was a retired worker McElroy Coal Company, enjoyed hunting and fishing, loved woodworking and was a member of New Martinsville Church of God.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by brother, Charles Dunham and sisters, Lucille Willoughby and Betty Raber.

Surviving are his wife, Kay Brown Chapman; three sons, John Mark (Sharla) Chapman of Belton, TX, Michael (Donna) Chapman of Louisville, TX and Ted (Tricia) Chapman of Richmond Hill, GA; five daughters, Carrie Ann (Russell) Oberton of Charleston, SC, Kim (Kenny) Coates of Efland, NC, Pam (Mike) Jeffers of New Martinsville, WV, Jill Ingram of Fredrick, MD and Nattllee (Ben) Kitzmann of New York, NY; brother, Bill (Jackie) Chapman of New Martinsville; sister Brenda Chapman of FL; sixteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at Jarvis-Williams Funeral Homes, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville, WV where funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, September 2, 2010 with Pastor David Snyder officiating.

Mary Katherine Emerick
August 18, 2010

Emerick, Mary Katherine, 97, of Marion, Ind., formerly of Paden City, WV died Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at her home.

Mary was born December 15, 1912 in Paden City, WV daughter of the late Harry S. and Ella Smith Hizer.

She was a homemaker and member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Paden City.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter C. Emerick (1969).

Surviving are son, Walter “Jim” Emerick of Marion, Ind.; grandsons, Walter C and Roger E. Wayts; and three great-grandchildren, April M., Walter “Junior” C.W. and Andrew Wayts.

Private services were held at the convenience of the family.

Interment Northview Cemetery in New Martinsville, WV.


 
 
Wanda M Cutler
August 16, 2010

Cutler, Wanda Mae, 82, of Paden City, WV died Monday, August 16, 2010 in St. Joseph Hospital in Parkersburg, WV.

She was born May 30, 1928 in New Martinsville, WV.

She was a homemaker, member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit No 86 of Paden City, former employee of Viking Glass and Wetzel County Hospital and a Protestant by faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Guy E. Cutler, Sr.; five brothers and two sisters.

Surviving are two sons, Guy E. (Judith) Cutler, Jr. and Terry Lee (Rose) Cutler both of Philadelphia, Miss; two daughters, Faye Lynn Rudder of St. Mary's, WV and Janna Cutler of Paden City, WV; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Friends received 10 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m., Monday, August 23, 2010 at Jarvis-Williams Funeral Homes, Paden City with Jeremy Joy officiating.

Erika Machelle Bennett
August 14, 2010

Bennett, Erika Machelle, 21, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Saturday, August 14. She had been hospitalized for the treatment of pneumonia. Erika was surrounded by her loving family during her passing. She was born March 23, 1989.

Erika was a 2007 graduate of Paden City High School. She attended West Virginia University, Morgantown and West Virginia Northern Community College, New Martinsville. She was pursuing a degree in nursing. Erika was employed by Texas Road House in Morgantown, WV. She was a baptized Christian and a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Marjorie Miller.

She is survived by her parents, Tina Miller Bennett, Greg and Debbie Bennett; brothers, Gabriel Bennett and Derrick Bennett and loving friend, Brittany Ritz; fiancé, Michael Bukrim of Morgantown; grandparents, Arthur and Karen Miller of Sebring, Florida, and Larry and Donna Bennett of Paden City; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Paden City where services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 18, 2010 with co-officiates Rev. Darrel Gooden and Ron Crowe.

Interment Paden Memorial Gardens, Paden City, WV.

Turner, Mary Janet, 96, of Paden City, WV died Thursday, August 12, 2010 at Ritchie Personal Care Home in Sistersville, WV.

Mary was born May 23, 1914 in Doddridge County, WV, daughter of the late William Ralph and Nellie Blanche Davison Cummings.

She was a homemaker, owner operator of “The Curl Shop” beauty salon, member of Easter Star – Martha Washington Chapter and Paden City Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Turner; three brothers, William, Warren and Ralph Cummings and sister, Betty Ann Turner.

Surviving are two sons, William R. Furbee of Sterling, CO and James D. (Cheryl) Furbee of Granite Bay, Calf.; three grandchildren, Kendra (Raj) Furbee-Krishnan, Cara (Sheldon) Watson and Mark (Kim) Furbee; four great-grandchildren; three nieces and one nephew.

Underwood, Stephanie L., 41, of New Martinsville, WV died Saturday, August 7, 2010 at the home of her Special Angels, Don and Debbie Cunningham surrounded by her family.

Stephanie was born March 6, 1969 in New Martinsville, WV daughter of the late Bernard Weekley and Charla Jobes of New Martinsville.

She loved attending her children’s wresting matches and band competitions, making people laugh and being the center of attention. She was “The Stylist” and owner of Teazers Hair Salon in New Martinsville and a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in New Martinsville, WV.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her dad, Dave Jobes; paternal grandparents, Jim and Ruby Weekley and maternal grandfathers, Chuck Johnson and Urban Klug.

Surviving are her husband, Russell Underwood; son, Devon Phillips; two daughters, Mikayla Phillips and Maci Underwood all of New Martinsville, WV; sister, Anissa (Tony) Williams of Paden City, WV; step sister, Becky (Sam) Ritchie; maternal grandmother, Betty Klug both of New Martinsville three nieces, Hannah Weekley, Bree Williams and Haley Austin; nephew, Nathan Ritchie; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Randle "Keith" Palmer

Palmer, “Keith” Randle K., 63, of New Martinsville, WV died Friday, August 06, 2010 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Keith was born September 7, 1946 in New Martinsville, WV son of the late Randle A. and Mary Cross Palmer.

He was a man who knew all about guns and was an avid hunter, working forty years in the field of heating and cooling, his last employer was Valley Plumbing in New Martinsville; a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, and a member of the New Martinsville United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Delores Rush and Ruth Palmer; his father and mother-in-law, John W. and Lahoma Robinson and brother-in-law, Phillip Scott.

Surviving are his wife, Barb McKinney Palmer of New Martinsville; daughter, Tonya “Tinker” Lynn Palmer of New Martinsville; several brother and sister-in-laws; several nieces and nephews; his four legged protectors, “Ellie” and “Prissy” and he will sadly be missed by all.

Alfred "Dan" Sprowl, Jr.
July 28, 2010

Sprowl, Jr., Alfred “Dan” Daniel, 74, of New Martinsville, WV died Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Wetzel County Hospital.

Dan was born April 27, 1936 in Cadiz, OH, son of the late Alfred D and Lydia Kaufman Sprowl.

He was a retired pipe fitter from PPG with thirty-eight years of service, U.S. Army veteran of Korean conflict member of Wetzel Masonic Lodge No. 39 A.F.&A.M. where he served as Past Master twice and was a Shriner; New Martinsville Moose Lodge #931 and a member of New Martinsville United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, “Bunny” Nila J. Durig Sprowl and brother, John Sprowl.

Surviving are two sons, Dan Sprowl and “J.D.” (Elisa) Sprowl both of New Martinsville, WV; granddaughter, Isabel Sprowl; brother, Carl (Shirley) Sprowl; sister-in-law, Dixie (David) Elwood; nephew, Benjamin Elwood and niece, Emily Elwood.

Friends received 6-9 p.m., Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at Jarvis-Williams Funeral Homes, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, August 6, 2010 at the funeral home with Pastor Melissa Shortridge officiating. Masonic services will be conducted by Wetzel Masonic Lodge #39 A.F. & A.M. and military graveside services will be conducted by the American Legion and VFW Honor Guards.

Ralph D. Ice
July 22, 2010

Ralph David Ice, 86, of Paden City, died July 22, 2010, at Madison Nursing Center from complications of injuries sustained in a traffic accident last summer.

He was born in Sistersville, WV, on April 28, 1924, to the late Daniel and Edna Ice.
He graduated from Sistersville High School with the class of 1941. A veteran of WWII, he was a tail gunner on a B-17 with the U.S. Army Air Forces. He married Mildred Fisher Ice on July 12, 1947.

Retired in 1986 after 28 years with Consolidated Aluminum in Hannibal, Ohio, he began a second career in 1987 working at Trowbridge-Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 73 A.F. & A.M. and the American Legion Post No. 86. He was a faithful member of the Paden City Christian Church for 55 years, where he served in many offices, including elder and trustee.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mildred Ice; two daughters, Joyce Ice and Karen Schiffbauer, sons-in-law Ron Latimer and Earl Schiffbauer, and his granddaughter Elisabeth Schiffbauer, all of Morgantown; his sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Kenneth Johnson of Sistersville; his in-laws, Mary Alice Cozart, of Pentwater, MI: John and Jane Fisher, Jim and Regina Fisher, Helen Fisher, all of Elyria, OH; Bill Goddard, of Sebring, FL; Ed Cunningham of Morgantown, and Karen and Joe Tennant of Jacksonburg; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Virginia and her husband Denzil Jones; and his brother John and sister-in-law Virginia Ice.

Morris, Hilda H., 78, of New Martinsville, WV died Sunday, July 18, 2010 at her home.

Hilda was born September 16, 1931 in Hundred, WV the daughter of the late Garrison and Mary Pauline Teagarden Barr.

She was a homemaker and mother of three; retired co-owner of Miss Blue Restaurant in Hundred, WV for ten years, served on the Board of Director for Town and Country Days also chaired the beef dinners; New Martinsville Homemakers Club, helped her husband with his Culligan water softener business; jailer for the Wetzel County Jail; past member on the Wetzel County Democrat Executive Committee and member of the Church of Christ Proctor, WV.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Larry Morris; two brothers, Charles Willard Barr and William Bruce Barr and her in-laws H.R. and Edith Morris.

Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Norman E. Morris; sons, Terrell B. Morris of New Martinsville, WV and Rick J. (Sharon) Morris of Middlebourne, WV; two grandchildren, Heath (Cheryl) Morris and Jessica (Lewis) Hardway; two foster daughters, Vicky and Caroline “Kay”; brother, Harley Barr of Hundred, WV; four sisters, Mildred (Donald) Cole of Hundred, WV, Lavena (Charlie) Stoneking and Laura (Norman) Williams both of New Martinsville, WV, Lucille (Tom) Jolliff of Linn, WV; and several nieces and nephews.

Ward, Anna Lee, 82, of New Martinsville, WV formerly of Paden City, WV died Monday, June 21, 2010 at her home.

Anna was born June 22, 1927 in Charleston, WV she was the daughter of the late John and Willa Yester Matz.

She was a homemaker, owner of Stender’s Bookkeeping & Tax Service, she was a realtor for twenty years in Arizona, helped her husband with Beneficial Hearing Aids in Sun City, AZ, loved camping, long walks and her grandchildren, and at one time, she was very active in the Paden City Christian Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Stender (1993).

Surviving are her husband, LaVerne Ward of New Martinsville, WV; two daughters, Linda (Glenn) Warnock of Naples, FL and Pam (Bob) Newman of New Martinsville, WV; two step-sons, Les (Cathy) Ward of Gilbert, AZ and Lonnie (Jessica) Ward of Rimrock, AZ; grandchildren, Joseph Scott Still, Todd Still, Rob Newman II, Michael (Angela) Newman; two step-grandchildren, Melissa Ward and Nathan Ward; five great grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren and a special family member, Randy (Rose) Odum of Peoria, AZ.

Witschey, Walter A., 76, of New Martinsville, WV died Sunday, June 20, 2010 at Wetzel County Hospital.

Walter was born in Tyler County, West Virginia, son of the late Harold and Ethel Rabel Witschey.

He was partnered with his son in Witschey Contracting Corp, a US Army veteran and Reservist, and cattle rancher. He was a man who loved his family, enjoyed working, and was a protestant by faith.

Surviving are his wife, whom he married forty-one years ago on June 20, 1969, Margaret Straight Witschey; son, Daniel (Amy) Witschey of New Martinsville, WV; daughter, Ruth (Jack) Lovejoy of St. Cloud, FL; three granddaughters, Augusta Lovejoy, Brianna Lovejoy and Joellen Witschey; three brothers, William “Bill” (Wilda) Witschey, Wayne Witschey, Warren Witschey; a sister, Lila Witschey, all four of New Martinsville, WV; and several nieces and nephews.

Goldie M. Crimmel

Crimmel,Goldie M., 104, of Knox, PA formerly of New Martinsville died early Friday morning, June 18, 2010, surrounded by her family.

Born September 17, 1905, in New Martinsville, WV, daughter of the late Clarence and Amanda McCollough Starkey.

Mrs. Crimmel was a homemaker, in her early years, she was a teacher at Crows Run School near Reader, WV, she enjoyed quilting and gardening, was an avid fisherwoman, and enjoyed watching the Steelers and Pirates, she was a Blue Ribbon winner of the Clarion County Fair Quilting Contest and a Methodist by faith.

She was married to Clarence (Crackie) Crimmel, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Crimmel is survived by her daughters, Frances Taylor of Knox; and Rosamary Ditty and husband, William, of Bradford; her sister, Emma Newman of New Martinsville, WV; four grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Paul, Raymond, John, and Clarence Starkey; and sisters, Sarah Wolfe, Dorothy Smith, and Rosamond Tiber.

Piekarski, Francis A., 69, of New Martinsville, WV went home to his Lord, Jesus Christ, June 14, 2010 at UPMC in Pittsburgh, PA.

Francis was born March 31, 1941 in Appleton, Minnesota son, of the late Albert and Dorothy Sullivan Piekarski.

He was a self-employed construction worker, member of Knights of Columbus, Holy Name Society, retired maintenance foreman from New Martinsville Parks and Recreation Dept., served 2 terms as Councilman for the 1st Ward, volunteered with Open Door Ministries, served in the U.S. Air Force from 1960 – 1964 and was honorably discharged as Airman 2nd Class Military Police, worked as a part-time maintenance person at the New Martinsville Post Office, graduate of Art Institute of Cincinnati, University of Hard Knocks through Alderson – Broaddus College, loved his grandchildren, working at the church bingo, fish fries and church picnics, avid artist, wood craftsman, building construction, reader, enjoyed military history and theology and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in New Martinsville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, James Baridon; brothers, Jerome (Patricia) Piekarski; Patrick Piekarski; grandson, Charles Piekarski.

Surviving are his wife, Janice Piekarski; three sons, Scott (Lana) Piekarski of Poca, WV, Mike (Jackie) Piekarski of New Martinsville, WV and John (Alicia) Piekarski of Martins Ferry, OH; five grandchildren, Eric Piekarski, Isaiah Piekarski, Ashlyn Piekarski, Jack Piekarski and Daniel Piekarski and one nephew, Larry Piekarski.

Monahan, Alice May, 88 of Paden City, formerly of New Martinsville, died Sunday, June 13, 2010 at Sistersville Center.

Alice was born November 12, 1921 in New Martinsville, WV the daughter of the late Alfred Oscar and Sarah Belle McLaughlin Suter.

She was a clerk for 35 years for Harman Drug Store; a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 28 of New Martinsville and a member of New Martinsville United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Monahan; three brothers and a sister.

Surviving are a son, Charles (Faith) Monahan of Mexico; three daughters, Victoria (Glenn) Jones of Murrysville, Pa, Paula (Mark) Ray of Point Pleasant, WV and Rae (Mike) Stillwagoner of Paden City; seven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.

Friends received 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S. Bridge Street, New Martinsville where American Legion Auxiliary Unit 28 services will be held at 7 p.m., Wednesday.

Phillips, Seth Earl Stephen, infant son of Bill and Sara Stephen Phillips of Paden City, WV died Saturday, June 5, 2010.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert and Florence Seals Phillips and maternal grandparents, Earl K. & Norma Jean Hyde Stephen.

Surviving in addition to his parents are a sister, Caylin Marie Stephen of Ceredo Kenova, WW; Aunt Kandy Stephen of Paden City; Uncle, Robert Rackley of Carmichaels, PA: step-aunt, Donna Piko Jones of Parkersburg, WV; god-mother, Nancy Dabbs of Friendly, WV and several cousins.

Ebert, Betty Rose, 86, of New Martinsville, WV died Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at the Sistersville Center.
.
Betty was born June 19, 1923 in New Martinsville the daughter of the late Marion and Ethel Beagle Noland.

She was a homemaker; former owner of Southside Inn in Brooklyn; loved camping and was a protestant by faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Kent Slie.

Surviving are her husband, Lorin “Lou” Ebert; son, Charles (Sandy) Slie of New Martinsville; three grandchildren, David B. Slie of Bellaire, Ohio, Lisa J. Slie of New Martinsville and Scott (Julie) Slie of New Martinsville; two great-grandchildren, Zackary and Bailey Slie.

Friends received 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 3, 2010 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S. Bridge Street, New Martinsville where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 4, 2010.

Gaiser, Robert “Bob” A., 78 of New Martinsville, WV died Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at Wetzel County Hospital.

Bob was born on Oil Ridge in Sistersville, WV on July 15, 1931 the son of the late Henry Adams and Beatrice Ann Starkey Gaiser.

He was a retired electrician from the Clarksburg IBEW local; Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict; member of Sistersville VFW Post #6327, Sistersville Elks P.B.O.E. #333, Sistersville American Legion Post #87 and faithful member of New Martinsville United Methodist Church, where he was very active.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Charles Kehrer; two sisters, Velma Gaiser and Mary Barnes.

Surviving are his wife of fifty years, Mary Jo Rogers Gaiser; two sons, Jeffery Scott (Teresa) Gaiser of New Martinsville, WV and Robert “Jay” (Tereasa) of Wheeling, WV; daughter, “Jodi” (Joe) DeFatta of Franklin, TN; ten grandchildren, Jeremy Kilgore, Matthew Gaiser, Lauren Gaiser, Brooke Ash, Jennifer Gaiser, Robbie Gaiser, David DeFatta, Sarah DeFatta, Kathryn DeFatta and Joe DeFatta; sister, Nancy (Robert “Bob”) Foldger of Cleveland, OH and several nieces and nephews.

Friends received Noon – 3 and 6 – 8 p.m. Sunday, May 30, 2010 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Homes, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Monday, May 31, 2010 at the New Martinsville United Methodist Church with Pastor Paul Mateer officiating.

Wright, Dorothy A., 89, of New Martinsville, WV died Saturday, May 15, 2010 at Wetzel County Hospital in New Martinsville.

Dorothy was born January 22, 1921 in Porters Falls, WV the daughter of the late John Franklin and Florence Jane Winland Duke.

She was a retired Nursing Assistant from Wetzel County Hospital, homemaker, EMT, Sunday School Teacher and member of the First Church of God on Russell Avenue.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Orville O. Wright; grandsons, Thomas D. Bryant and Billy Gene Howell, Jr.; three brothers, Guy Duke, Clyde Duke and Thurman Duke and five sisters, Pansy Spurlock, Edna Goudy, Virgie Hoskins, Alta Kaufman and Geraldine Clegg.

Surviving are son, John D. Wright of Titusville, FL; daughters, Carolyn L. (Bill) Howell of New Martinsville, WV and Robin (Robert) Wright Dennis of Marietta, OH; five grandchildren, John Howell, Kristi Gieseke, John J. Wright, Jodi Wright and Jeff S. Wright and eight great grandchildren and one great great grandson.

Norma Jean Hood

Norma Jean Hood, 85, of New Martinsville, WV passed away May 15, 2010. She was born January 5, 1925 in New Martinsville to the late Charles and Anna Powell Loy.
She retired after 39 years with Indiana Gas and attended New Martinsville United Methodist Church.

She was the beloved wife of the late Garth E. Hood and the caring sister of the late Nell, Claudeen, Cecil, Curtis and Totts.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Bob and Rita Dalrymple were her caretakers and loved her as a mother.

Norma always talked about working 39 years for Indiana Gas and loved living in Madison, IN. She was Past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star in Madison.

Visitation will be held Monday 2-4 and 6-8 at Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 Bridge Street, New Martinsville, WV and services will be held 11 AM Tuesday at the New Martinsville United Methodist Church. Burial in Northview Cemetery, New Martinsville.

Rexroad, Genavee June, 76, of Paden City, WV died Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling, WV.

Genavee was born June 8, 1933 in Sardis, OH daughter, of the late James A and Ida Price Farmer.

She was a devoted wife and mother and member of First Baptist Church in Paden City.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest G. Rexroad (2002); four brothers, Albert Farmer, Virgil Farmer, Bernard Farmer and James Farmer, Jr.; two sisters, Myrtle Snider and Carrie Ramsey and one grandson, Nathan Rexroad.

Surviving are two sons, Jeffery (Kellie) Rexroad of Paden City, WV and Mark (Suzanne) Rexroad of Hurricane, WV; daughter, Pam (Clint) Cooper of Wheeling; four grandchildren, Kristin Cooper, Taylor Rexroad, Matthew Rexroad and Terry Lee Bartrug, II and several nieces and nephews.

Ott, Linda Lou, 67, of Paden City, WV went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, WV.

Linda was born on June 7, 1942 in Fairmont, WV, daughter of the late Emerson E. and Roxie G. Neel Frame.

She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a graduate of East Fairmont High School and attended West Virginia Business College. She was a long time supporter of the Paden City High School Band and Athletics, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Paden City.

Surviving are her husband of 48 years, Jerrie D. Ott; her three children, Darla (Doug) Schnegg, Marsha (Brad) Croasmun, and Jerry (Stacey) Ott, Jr.; her three siblings, Eugene (Barbara) Frame, Judith (Charles) Hayhurst, and Ruth (Tommy) Heston; Five grandchildren, Eric Croasmun, Jessica Schnegg, Adam Croasmun, Emily Ott and Ty Ott; and several nephews, nieces, and great nephews and nieces.

Friends will be received 2-4 and 7-9 on Friday, May 14 at Jarvis-Williams Funeral Homes, Paden City, WV. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 15 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Paden City with Pastor David V. Tosi and Pastor Kenneth Brougham Co-Officiating.

Beulah was born February 16, 1922 in New Martinsville, WV the daughter of the late Henry and Frances Fluharty Baker.

She was a homemaker, served on the Election Board and was a Protestant by faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Mayfield; brother, Robert and sisters, Helen, Martha and Norma Jean.

Surviving are her son, Roger (Patricia) Baker of Fairfax, VA; two nieces, Shelia Simmons and Jerry Kinney; nephew, Robert Wilkinson and cousin, Ivagean Crawford.

Shrader, “Bill” William A., 79, of New Martinsville, WV died Monday, April 19, 2010 at Woodsfield Nursing Center, Woodsfield, OH.

Bill was born March 17, 1931 in Kittanning, PA son of the late Herman R. and Marguerite Shrader.

He was a retired truck driver, graduate of Freeport High School, instructor for SwissLand Truck Driving School, veteran of the Army and Army National Guard, member of American Legion Post 28 of New Martinsville and a Protestant.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois J. Shrader and sister, Sarah Jane Aul.

Friends received 11 a.m. until time of services at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Jarvis-Williams Funeral Homes, 1224 S. Bridge St., New Martinsville, WV with Mike Shank officiating.

Floyd was born July 9, 1929 in Maude, WV the son of the late Floyd W. and Gertrude Minger Lasure, Sr.

He was a retired truck driver; U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict; member of Middlebourne Masonic Lodge No. 34 A.F. & A.M., Kerbela Temple and Scottish Rite in Knoxville, TN, Order of the Moose Lodge #931 of New Martinsville, Eagles Aerie #2281 of Paden City, Sistersville VFW Post 6327 and American Legion Post 86 of Paden City; volunteer police officer and fireman for the community of Pine crest and a Methodist by faith.

Surviving are his wife of eight years, Brenda Riley Lasure; three sons, William (Sher) Lasure of Harper Woods, MI, Steven (Joann) Lasure of Warren, MI and Gino (Stephanie) Elrod of Lexington, VA; three daughters, Shelia (Kenny) Steffis of Clinton Township, MI, Patricia (Robbie) Bianucci of Deer borne Heights, MI and Debbie Lasure of Warren, MI; eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Margie Loveall

Loveall, Margie, 83, of New Martinsville peacefully completed her journey to heaven Easter Sunday at Sistersville Center.

She was born November 29, 1926 in Porters Falls, WV the daughter of the late Henry and Bessie Throckmorton Elson.

Margie’s life was a true testament to her faith in Christ. Margie was a professional artist, homemaker and attended the First Baptist Church in New Martinsville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Loveall, and two brothers, Raymond and Harry Glenn Elson.

Surviving are her daughter, Veronica L. McNeely and her husband, Robert of New Martinsville; granddaughter, Vanessa Price and her husband, Zach of Greenville, SC and several nieces and nephews.

In accordance with Margie’s wishes services will be held at the convenience of the family with interment in Greenlawn Memorial Park in New Martinsville, WV.
